An Exhibition Of Photography By The Local People Of East Barnet

St Mary’s Church is a growing, lively Christian community on the edge of London. It serves the Parish of East Barnet, and has done so from its foundation in 1080 by the Benedictine monks of St Albans. It is a large parish and includes our own Church School and 5 other primary schools, a secondary school, many shops and small businesses - as well as extensive housing, a theological college and in the centre of the parish; the beautiful Oak Hill Park which covers some 20 acres.

This year we intend to highlight both the natural beauty of this open space and the diversity and character of our parish by staging a Photographic Exhibition inside St Mary’s Church during the weekend of the July 4th/5th/6th, coinciding with the East Barnet Festival  (north London's biggest outdoor music & arts event).

The theme of the exhibition focuses on photographs taken by local people of the parish and divided into five themes:

PORTRAITS & PEOPLE

LOCAL LANDSCAPES

HISTORICAL EAST BARNET

ALL AROUND THE WORLD

CAMERA PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY

(We will also be running a competition open to all ages and with an overall winner.)

The event is looking for sponsorship to cover the quoted £2,000 costs of staging the event. For further information about sponsorship please email heraldadvertising@btinternet.com.
